The Moment: Is anyone else looking forward to seeing the last episode of Hunger Games next week as much as I am?
Oh, it’s not the movies that get me so excited, or the books, but the fact that this has become such a mega franchise, starring a large cast of fashion-friendly actors, which means there will inevitably be gala premieres held in cities around the world. This equates to lots of red carpet action, particularly for Jennifer Lawrence.

Thus far, we’ve seen her in black lace Dolce & Gabbana with floral embroidery for a book party in London (above), a l-o-o-o-o-ong white gown from Christian Dior Couture in Paris (below, left), and a more revealing Dior Couture dress with open sides connected by chain details in London (below, middle). She also wore a pretty, but severe, Dior Couture dress at the premiere in London (below, right).
Why It’s a Wow: While it is not surprising to see Lawrence wearing many looks from a company which she also represents in advertising campaigns, I do wonder whether the recently announced departure of Raf Simons as Dior’s artistic director will spark a change in Lawrence’s style (inevitably, I think). I have particularly liked her non-Dior looks this week, especially the Ralph Lauren black lace dress she wore to the premiere in Madrid, which clearly suited her personality -- she even fell on the red carpet in it.

Increasingly, with multi-city stops for film premieres, stars and their stylists are becoming more strategic about the image they project through their collective fashion choices. Elizabeth Banks, for instance, resumed her role as the most daring of the cast -- she plays fashion plate Effie Trinket so cleverly in the films, so it makes sense -- turning up in an embellished Razan Alazzouni top with black pants in Berlin. (Bonus points for finding a designer so obscure that the name is new even to me; pictured, above right.) Also loved her swirling Elie Saab Couture dress in London (above left), where most of the cast opted for gowns that looked particularly worthy of science fiction -- Jena Malone’s Reem Acra dress, for sure, was out of this world (below).
We'll be watching when the tour comes stateside next week.
